Editorial standards

We publish on whatever a reader needs explaining — personal finance and tax, but equally government schemes, science, health, technology, law, history and culture. Some of it is about money, and getting that wrong costs a reader real money; some of it is not, and getting that wrong costs them time and trust. So this page states plainly how an article gets written, what we check before publishing it, and what happens when we get something wrong.

  1. 01Every factual claim carries a source

Finance, tax and scheme articles cite the primary document — a government notification, a regulator circular, an exchange filing — not another article about it. Where a primary source is unavailable, the article says so rather than implying certainty it does not have.

  2. 02Regulatory claims are dated

Tax rules, SEBI regulations and scheme terms change. An article states the date its facts were checked, and a rule that has since changed is corrected rather than quietly left up.

  3. 03AI assists; it does not author unverified claims

DeepShodh is an AI research product and we use it to find and compare sources. That is not the same as publishing model output. Anything that states a number, a rate, a deadline or a legal requirement is checked against the primary source before publication.

  4. 04Written in the reader’s language, not translated into it

We support every language, and an article is written in the language it is published in rather than translated into it afterwards. A literal translation is usually grammatically correct and practically useless, because the examples do not survive the trip.

  5. 05Corrections are visible

If a published article is wrong, it is corrected at the article and the correction is described. Articles show a real last-updated date, not the publication date standing in for it.

Who writes this

Articles are published by the DeepShodh editorial team. We do not attach an individual byline to work that has not been reviewed by a named person, because a byline is a claim about accountability and should mean something.

If you find an error, or a figure that has gone out of date, write to deepshodh@gmail.com with the URL. Corrections are made at the article.
